Please reach us at DoncasterJuniorChessClub@outlook.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
On the whole, the club is currently aimed at students between Year 5 to Year 10. That isn’t a strict rule however, and we will strive to accommodate as many students as possible.
We try very hard to keep club payments as low as possible. At this time, and thanks to the money provided by the Doncaster and District Chess Association, we are only asking for £2.50 per child per session.
We understand that the cost of living crisis may be causing difficulties and as such, if you feel unable to contribute this amount, please let us know and we will see what we can do. The payments are soley used to keep the club afloat and we don't want money to become a barrier to a child's enjoyment and opportunity.
At DJCC, we believe that all children should be able to enjoy this wonderful game. As a result, the club is ran entirely by unpaid volunteers and does not make any profit. Club payments are used solely for the benefit of the club (such as room hire, equipment, etc) and are kept as low as possible. We also have to thank the Doncaster and District Chess Associaiton for a very generous start-up grant which has allowed us to form this club.
Unfortunately, as we have limited venue capacity, we would ask that you arrange your first visit by getting in touch using the contact details in our “Contact Us” page.
Absolutely, we all start somewhere! If possible though, it may be useful to look at some basics at home first. Websites like Chesskid.com can be a great way to join the chess world.
We try our absolute best to make chess open for all. Please see our inclusion policy for more details and feel free to get in touch.
